Popular crypto exchange Gemini, made an announcement today that arrived in the crypto news earlier, that they are welcoming Jeanine Hightower-Sellitto on the team as a Managing Directors of Operations.
Sellitto is a former Wall Street COO with more than a decade of experience that she will now use in this company owned by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.
In the announcement, co-founder Cameron Winklevoss revealed that Hightower-Selitto will provide her knowledge and experience in order to build the new Gemini Marketplace and build a new client service team.
Winklevoss also noted that this is a strategic hiring in order to build one-of-a-kind marketplace and client service team but also to improve the current Customer team. Hightower-Selitto’s long years of experience are key in delivering the company’s vision for the world-class marketplace and also deliver the best platform possible.
Before joining the Team, Selitto was the Chief Operating Officer at the ISE that was an exchange company that she helped build. She moved forward in the company in a period of 12 years in different departments such as business development, product management and etc.
“Scaling a New York trust company in one of the fastest growing industries in the world carries with it unique challenges — challenges that Jeanine’s deep background in marketplaces and leading high-achieving operational teams will help us navigate as we sail the Gemini Spaceship towards the moon.”
Hiring Selitto is another strategic move of Gemini. Before that, they hired former International Securities Exchange technology officer Robert Cornish. Also, in September, Gemini launched their own USD-pegged stablecoin-the Gemini Dollar claiming to be more trustworthy than Tether.
