DJ Steve Aoki Launched An ETH NFT Membership Club

DJ Steve Aoki launched an ETH NFT membership club that will use a passport to enable access to perks like live concerts, metaverse events, and more so let’s read further in our latest Ethereum news.

DJ Steve Aoki is launching an Ethereum NFT membership club called AOK1VERSE but users will need a passport which will grant them access to various benefits. The DJ has been a prominent creator and collector in the NFT space over the past few years. Not only has he sold his own artwork and announced a Solana marketplace with a comic artist Todd McFarlane but also collects Bored Apes, CryptoPunks as well other valuable projects, and now he is taking his next step in the NFT space.

Revealed today, the new club is an Ethereum NFT driven membership community like a tech-upgraded version of the Steve Aoki fan club. The collectors that hold the A0k1 passport NFT can gain more access to live and virtual concerts and other events with a private discord server and access to Aoki himself as well as future metaverse events. Aoki said that the new project is actually eight months in the making and it is designed to bring in different parts of his creative life from music to NFTs, fashion, and more. He even said that the goal is to provide utility to fans and the collectors in a long time span and to reward them for engaging in and contributing to the community:

“When I started my label when I was 19, I was part of my own membership community—but it was punk. It was like we had our own little clique. We did our own little thing. One thing I learned from all of that, is that the more that you contribute, that’s where you get the respect. The kind of contributions that you bring to the community or club is where you get valued the most.”

Each Passport NFT can be upgraded using AOK1 Credits and there will be 25,000 in total minted as ERC-1155 NFTs so the holders taking part in the community events and amass more credits and combine multiple Passport NFTs with the evolving Passport giving stamps and can level up and will unlock access to additional perks. The Credits will be airdropped to existing Steve Aoki NFT holders and will be a presale for holders of other projects like Adam Bomb Squad, Doodles, and TIME Pieces. Manifold co-founder Richard Chen turned down a $9.5 million offer for his own CryptoPunk and said that an NFT-centric membership club changes the dynamic from just a celebrity to a fan club structure.

It is early days for the metaverse but people are spending billions of dollars on NFTs and millions on virtual land in the Sandbox as well as other games.
