Samsung and Nifty Gateway partnered to create an NFT platform for the tech giant’s smart TV. Users will be able to see, buy, trade, and display NFTs via the smart TV Interface. While most startups are building displays for NFTs, Samsung is taking a different approach and will add NFT functionality to smart TV Sets which will open up the collecting to a much wider audience. Today,  the tech company announced the NFT industry partner that is bringing the smart TV interface to life. Nifty Gateway is an Ethereum-centric marketplace that was founded by brothers Griffin and Duncan Cock Foster in 2018 and was acquired by crypto exchange Gemini in 2019.

Nifty Gateway worked alongside Samsung and develop NFT viewing, buying, and trading experience that is optimized for TV. It taps into the Nifty Gateway’s wallet system where the platform secures users’ collectibles rather than requiring them to hold them in an external wallet and will allow users to buy NFTs with a credit and debit card or crypto. Griffin Cock Foster said:

The new NFT platform will be integrated with Samsung with the new 2022 premium TV Lines including its QLED sets while the owners of the Frame and Micro LED sets can download a Nifty Gateway app to gain access. Samsung announced plans to integrate NFT functionality in the new TVs and the CES trade shows at the start of January. The users will be able to see the artwork on the Nifty Gateway platform whether it is from one of the curated collections including notable artists like Pak, Beeple, and XCOPY, or NFTs whcih have been aggregated from another marketplace. The platform started expanding beyond its own curated drops to offer customers a wider array of NFT collections.
