Animator and video producer as well as Rick and Morty creator, Justin Roiland decided to soon launch a lineup of non-fungible token- NFT artwork as the Nifty Gateway digital art platform tweeted this morning:

 “We are thrilled to welcome Justin Roiland to Nifty Gateway for his first-ever crypto art release. The full collection features several original artworks from Justin and will go live next Tuesday, January 19.”

This move marks his first foray in the crypto and NFT market which gained prominence over the past year with the niche audience that’s willing to shell out major amounts on crypto art. Nifty Gateway is owned by the Gemini crypto exchange and it is one of the bigger players in the NFT market. millions of dollars worth of NFT are when under the hammer on this platform in 2021 alone which some pieces selling for over $373,000 last week. As such, NFTs are not limited to art as they are smart contacts that contain identifiable information about one service, product, or just anything that can be verifiable. This means that whoever holds the private keys to an NFT is the owner of the NFT, of course, eliminating the chances of theft and fraud.

The sector’s growth allowed artists from all backgrounds to profit off their creations no matter their background but this also opened the door for some weird creators too who even sell tokenized selfies.
