Held in the crypto café Paralelni Polis in Prague, the renowned event which will start on October 2, will host a range of speakers including Monero project lead Spagni, Trezor founder Alena Vranova, and writer Douglas Rushkoff. This year’s gathering will delve into privacy and will focus mostly on how to safeguard the data against databases and drones as well as hostile AI in the age of digital space. For those that are unable to make it to Prague, the event will be broadcast over the cyberspace via the Hackers Congress new webcast service. Event organizer Pavol Luptak said:
“We’re delighted to be able to launch HCPP TV and deliver HCPP’s unique content and thoughtful insights to our community of cypherpunks and activists around the globe. The previous six congresses have sold out months in advance. The current global situation provides us with the opportunity to open the congress to new audiences that might not otherwise have been able to make it to Prague.”

For those in attendance, despite the benefits of making actual human contact and the event organizers, there will be a conducting of a real-life airdrop. One hundred silver commemorative coins will be distributed over the duration of the conference. The airdrop has become a tradition for the annual meeting as every year new batch of silver coins are airdropped, depicting the freedom fighters. This year’s coin commemorates American Whistleblower Edward Snowden who leaked classified information about America’s National Security Agency and its surveillance practices 2013.
Speaking about monero in our XMR news, at the start of June, when the crypto market stagnated, due to the economic uncertainty caused by the coronavirus, Monero’s daily trading volume was only at $60 million with a price of $66.
