The world’s most famous whistleblower and controversial person linked to sharing a lot of controversial documents is apparently looking to stack up some Bitcoins (BTC) in his wallet. Edward Snowden feels like buying BTC – he recently took it to Twitter and wrote that the drop was “too much panic and too little reason.

“This is the first time in a while I’ve felt like buying bitcoin. That drop was too much panic and too little reason.”

Famous for disclosing top-secret documents that revealed the true extent of American and British global surveillance operations, Edward Snowden feels like Bitcoin is now a major buying opportunity.
His comments come after the Bitcoin price news showed a new low at below $4,000 for the flagship cryptocurrency – what was commented and seen as the sharpest-ever intraday plummet where BTC touched $3,782 for a few minutes.
The dramatic drop was aligning with the market mayhem worldwide as the US President Donald Trump summarily announced that there are severe new travel restrictions taking place as a response to the spread of the deadly COVID-19 coronavirus.
Edward Snowden feels like buying BTC because of the new yearly lows. The stock market is also having a bad week – on March 12, the Dow and FTSE suffered their worst day since the Black Monday crash of October 1987, prompting the New York Federal Reserve to announce an emergency action and pump $1.5 trillion into the American financial system.
The havoc also interested with an oil sector which comes in free fall as Saudi Arabia and Russia lurched into price war amid a collapsing global demand due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The veteran trader Peter Brandt, who earned a reputation for correctly predicting the collapse in the 2017 crypto market bull run – tweeted his sobering view of the BTC/USD market on March 12:
“If I interpret the chart without bias, I would say sub $1,000.”
The altcoin news also showed a lot of lows for the altcoins. Unsurprisingly, Edward Snowden feels like buying BTC and his tweet polarized a lot of responses on social media, with one hailing the “#bitcoinblackfriday” as the “sale of the decade” and another quipping:
“Try to buy some toilet paper right now. Use a US-based VPN server.”
And they shall call it #bitcoinblackfriday the greatest sale of the decade. Thx for being a hero, btw!
