Football club AC Milan team partners with BitMEX to launch its first-ever NFT after unveiling the venture as we can see further in today’s latest crypto news.
AC Milan team partenrs with BitMEX and they announced they will release a limited edition NFT with the proceeds being used to support the NFT Fondazione Milan linked to the wider scope of the soccer’s club Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. The latest initiative is the EU soccer giant AC Milan’s first-ever NFT venture as it explores more ways to engage with the international fanbase of more than 500 people.
As per the official announcement, AC Milan unveiled a new project in collaboration with FanSea and BitMEX. The club put a limited edition 3d NFT of the special Rossoneri Jersey from South Sudan. The proceeds will be directed to support the NPO charitable initiative acorss the world and will include the efforts to help alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The new NFT in question is created by a platform called FanSea with the help of sustainable tech and the fans can buy one or more of the certified pieces of digital memorabilia from April. Following this, the users can access the NFT on the app version on the platform after the launch.
The limited-edition NFT represents a torn AC Milan Jersey from a boy in South Sudan which made his way to the Milan museum. The jersey was discovered by photographer Jan Grarup when he visited South Sudan to document the effects of the floods in the country. The photographer met the boy in his Milan jersey and bought him a new one and took the jersey that was donated to the club. It was put on display in the Mondo Milan Museum at Casa Milan. The team said:
“Thanks to AC Milan’s partner BitMEX, which has committed to contribute to the project by making a donation to Fondazione Milan through the purchase of a large number of the special NFT, the first 10,000 fans to pre-order the NFT will also receive an additional benefit, which allows users to get trading discounts and other benefits on BitMEX.com.”
AC Milan signed a multi-year partnership deal with BitMEX to become its first official partner. As a part of the deal, both playing kits will feature the logo of the digital asset exchange. The collaboration makes BitMEX the official crypto trading partner under which the club’s fanbase will benefit from the exclusive offers of the derivatives exchange.
