Google partners with Bakkt, the digital asset marketplace to expand the usability of crypto, and as outlined in the press release from BusinessWire, the users can spend Bakkt Card crypto funds right from Google Pay. This came after Bakkt released its Visa Debit Card earlier his year and now the customers will be able to make the transactions via digital assets wherever Google Pay gets accepted. The process will convert crypto into fiat before arriving in the recipient’s account and this way, the digital assets can be used to pay for everyday products both online and in-store.
Bakkt will be using Google Cloud as the preferred cloud provider to make all services to leading US retailers and merchants. What’s more, Bakkt will take advantage of the analytics as the loyalty redemption option. The company partners can use them to identify important consumer behavior patterns. Bakkt CEO Gavin Michael saw the new partnership as a representative of the company’s success:

The new partnership is one of Bakkt’s many attempts to expand crypto use-cases in the US and the company partnered with Quiznos as well to launch a BTC payment pilot at stores in Denver. The organization collaborated with Starbucks after the launch of the Bitcoin app but since then, Starbucks customers are able to reload the cards using the app. Google Cloud was providing support as well as the company partnered with Dapper Labs to scale the latter’s blockchain.
Digital asset marketplace Bakkt is bringing BTC payments as it announced in a new partnership with the restaurant chain Quiznos to launch the first physical location where customers can pay for their food in BTC. Starting mid-August, diners can choose for crypto payments at elected Quiznos restaurants in the Denver area including high-traffic locations like the Denver International Airport. Bakkt announced the partnership for its first physical location pilot.
