The mobile payments service named MenaPay recently announced support and noted that Twitch users can now tip streamers with their native MenaCash stablecoin.
The cryptocurrency news today also show that as a blockchain-based payments service, MenaPay updated its mobile app and decided to add support for Twitch donations, as a press release shared with crypto media outlets confirmed this December 27.
At press time, Twitch viewers can use their MenaPay mobile app to tip their favorite Twitch players while watching their streams through MenaCash, the USD-pegged stablecoin built by the team at MenaPay. The move comes weeks after MenaPay let streamers use the MenaPay app to collect donations on a blockchain-based environment.
The release also shows that the digital gaming industry grew into a giant online space where more than 3.7 million streamers are gathered to share their experience with the audience. In this playground, viewers have the option to support their favorite streamers by either donating in while they stream or subscribing (paying to view content). MenaPay’s blockchain based mobile payment service uses QR codes to enable viewers to donate to Twitch streamers in seconds.
“Introducing MenaPay to Twitch streamers as a way to collect donations was a critical milestone in strengthening the bridge between the gaming community and blockchain technology,” said MenaPay CEO Cagla Gul Senkardes. She also talked about how Twitch users could benefit from the new update and said:
“Following the announcement, we saw incredible demand from Twitch’s viewer base, which also wants to use a simple means of donating. We made the necessary advancements and updated our app to support the gaming community further. Now, viewers can also integrate their MenaPay app with Twitch and make their donations from their smartphones in seconds.”
This is not the only update coming from Twitch in the crypto-related world. As we previously reported, the game streaming giant removed Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) support in March this year – only to reenable them in June. The Bitcoin news show that there is a lot of popularity around the platform when it comes to using BTC. Additionally, the blockchain based Internet browser also supports tipping on Twitch along with YouTube and Twitter.
