The Ukrainian news outlets want to raise $1 million by selling NFTs and if they will serve as the key to get access to exclusive content on these news outlets as we can see more in today’s latest crypto news.
The three Ukrainian news outlets Hromadske, Novoye Vremya, and Ukrainska Pravda, partnered with the Vault NFT platform to raise $1 million via NFTs. The three outlets are hoping to sell a limited number of NFT Keys that will offer the holders access to exclusive content. Each key according to Vault, will provide access to content from the team of journalists, editorial team, and photographers including photos and videos, and stories about the ongoing war in Ukraine. Vault added that the proceeds from the NFT sales will go directly to the media organizations themselves.
The Ukrainian outlets experienced a surge in popularity after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. According to Editor in Chief at Ukrainska Pravda Sevgil Mysayeva, the website is the second most popular website in Ukraine after the invasion started:
“About eight million people around the world read us every day. We feel our responsibility to inform the world about the current situation in Ukraine truthfully and in time.”
This is not the first time Ukraine pivoted to the crypto industry for fundraising goals. After the attack, the Ukrainian governemnt and many NGOs raised $59 million through more than 120,000 crypto donations. The crypto crowdfunding started at the end of February, a few days after Russia attacked Ukraine. The official Twitter account for the governemnt published a tweet with a bitcoin and ETH wallet address.
Today, the blockchain data shows that these addresses recieved $10 million in BTC and $18 million in ETH. The government also announced that it was accepting donations in Polkadot while the vice prime minister also said that the country will start accepting DOGE.

The decentralized autonomous organization UkraineDAO raised 2,258 ETH in an auction that started at the end of February and ended on March 2.
