Many phone manufacturers are trying to deliver new, better products constantly. We can see new phones coming out on the market every year and the companies are always trying to be better than the other possible choice. This is why phone manufacturers are getting interested in the blockchain technology. They are willing to create phones that will allow cryptocurrency lovers to conduct crypto business and always have easy access to their cryptocurrencies.
One Swiss Smartphone developer, Sirin Labs, is currently working on a project that will eventually lead to a blockchain based phone coming to the markets in November 2018. The company raised $157.8 million and more than half of it was gathered in the first 24 hours. This is only an indicator that there is a large interest in this project. The price of the phone isn’t really determined yet but it is expected to be around $900. The trick is however, the phone can only be bought with the Sirin’s crypto token.
Sirin is not the only company working on a new product. HTC is also trying to create a blockchain phone. They will allegedly name it HTC Exodus and it will have features such as crypto wallets that would be universal. To join them on their journey, Huawei is considering a blockchain-based phone as well.
IBM is one of the leaders in the tech world and known for its collaboration with many companies that use blockchain technology so they also want to develop a blockchain product in the telecommunications space. IBM did a survey and found out that more than 30 percent of communication service providers are considering engaging with the blockchain technology.
