The IOTA Lidbot, which relies on the IOTA Tangle for its intelligent waste management sensors, recently announced the sale of the second batch via Twitter. Lidbot announced the launch of the sale of smart Internet of Things (IoT) powered sensors, hinting that US customers could soon use these devices.
For those of you who don’t know or haven’t read details in the IOTA news, these sensors are based on the IOTA Tangle and can be used in the waste management industry, measuring the level of a waste or recycling container.

Now, the production of the second batch of these sensors is five times higher than the first, as the company announced. While the first batch was sold on January 20, the IOTA Lidbot now announces the next batch with 250 units more than the first one.

As we could see from the update, delivery is possible worldwide. IOTA Lidbot has set up a website which can be accessed by users who wish to pre-order these sensors. The price remains the same as the first version – for only $100, you can get one of these sensors.

One user questioned when will US-based residents be able to use these sensors, to which Lidbot hinted on a potential use very soon with an interesting GIF.
As reported before in our blockchain news, the IOTA Lidbot sensor is used in waste management, improving the entire process by tracking the current level of waste. The sensor alerts whenever a waste or recycling bin is full and sends a message to a predefined contact.
To do this, the sensor also measures the distance from the lid to the bottom and can turn any litter bin or container into an intelligent device within the IOTA ecosystem. One of its biggest advantages, however, comes with the fact that the IOTA Lidbot works completely without routers or other technical devices which cost money, weigh more and are difficult to set up.
