The CEO and co-founder of the Singapore-based distributed private key management solution named Torus Labs said that he has been diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus and is currently staying at an isolated ward in a hospital. The crypto startup CEO admitted this and wrote:
“I fell ill yesterday and have just been diagnosed with.”
In addition to Zen, there have been many attendees of an Ethereum conference which got infected as well. The crypto startup CEO, however, said that the symptoms he received commonly associated with the novel virus two nights ago and included fever, coughing, a runny nose and shortness of breath. He also noted that he is currently settled “quite nicely” in a hospital’s isolated ward.
Thanks for all the wishes, I've settled in quite nicely into an isolated ward. My symptoms turned up the night before last and in general, they are; fever, breathlessness, cough, and a running nose – although you don't have to have all of them to have it pic.twitter.com/et67Z7E6jX

However, the crypto startup CEO’s announcement came with a major and significant warning. Zen immediately warned the attendees of two conferences that he also recently attended (and who might have had close contact with him) to take additional precautions or get tested.
The Ethereum latest news show that the two Ethereum hackathons and conferences that he has tagged are ETHLondonUK, held from February 28 to March 1 as well as the Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC) which took place from March 3 until March 5 in Paris.
Given that the virus has already been spreading through China’s Wuhan since December last year, moving soon globally, all the events held in the past two-three months may have been a venue for spreading the virus. The cryptonews showed that it is highly infective, and people with mild symptoms may not know they have it and conferences are meeting places for large groups of people from across the world.
Also while most #COVID19 cases take 2-14 days to show symptoms and it's the doctor's opinion that "it probably came from France", there is a lesser chance that it could have been from Stanford Blockchain Conference (@cbrstan) or @EthereumDenver in mid Feb

As we previously reported, cancellation of crypto conferences is something that is gaining traction lately. The truth is, the COVID-19 spread a lot of fears everywhere around the world and events are either getting canceled or held with minimum of attendees. The panic is now real and it is hard to control the spread of the Coronavirus.
The crypto startup CEO Zhen Yu Yong is hopefully still one of the very few people in the crypto industry who got infected and are currently hospitalized.
