Launched in 2018, Bakkt enables institutional and accredited investors to get more BTC exposure via its regulated platform. The company touted the release of the application for years and it announced that the product finally arrived.

According to the statement, the application will serve as a digital wallet that will bring together BTC and other digital assets in one platform. It will also enable customers to convert the reward points to cash or using the main cryptocurrency as a method of payment. The official release of the app came after an invitation through the Early Access Program where 500,000 users carried out tests and customers can download it from the App Store and the Google Play Store, as Bakkt’s CEO Gavin Michael said:

 “The average consumer holds a wealth of digital assets – from gift cards to loyalty points to bitcoin – but lacks the tools to adequately track and utilize their value. We’re thrilled to bring the Bakkt App to the public as a step along our journey to expand digital asset access to all.”

The statement informed that Bakkt is one the way to become the best publicly-traded company partnered with notable names like Best Buy and Starbucks. The collaboration with the companies will help clients reload their cards through the company’s application for iOS via Bakkt. This will allow them to convert loyalty and reward points, flyer miles, gift cards, as Starbucks VP Karl Hebert said:

 “Our teams worked closely together as Bakkt sought input in developing a unique and trusted payment experience that enables customers to unlock the value of their digital assets in the form of US dollars.”

Another partenship happened with GolfNow that will allow customers to use the Bakkt App for payment solutions to more than 3.5 million users.
