Mexico’s senate building houses the country’s 14th BTC ATM which is a sign that the country sees an increase in interest in BTC. The ATM was installed on Tuesday with the support of a few legislators like Miguel Angel Mancera who is the head of a parliamentary group of the Party of the Democratic Revolution. Kempis shared her excitement at the developments and according to the Coin ATM Radar data, the country has 13 of these machines in Mexico City, Tijuana, Culiacan, Guadalajara, and San Miguel de Cozumel.

After the BTC ATM was installed, the reports from El Heraldo de Mexico stated that the PRD representative noted that BTC surpassed the transaction volume of payments made through traditional payments systems like MasterCard, Visa, and PayPal. Mexico’s interest in crypto picked up momentum in the past few months and according to Triple A’s crypto ownership data, 40% of the Mexican companies are interested in adopting blockchain and crypto in some manner. 71% of this group is concentrated on crypto usage.
The information shows that Mexico’s biggest exchange Bitso saw a 342% increase in trading volume and the exchange has over 1 million users. Nuevo Leon state senator Indira Kempis also said she is confident that BTC Can be a legal currency in Mexico because the users could help expand the financial inclusion across the world which is why Mexico’s senate building started from the small steps.
