Blockstack and Chainlink joined forces to integrate the Algorand-supported Clarity smart contract language with the help of the oracle technology of Chainlink, according to the press release that we are discussing in our chain link news.
For those who don’t know, Blockstack is an open-source developer network for creating decentralized apps and smart contracts. The protocol inherited Bitcoin’s security via its Proof of Transfer consensus design which enables the users to write secure smart contracts thanks to Clarity and host it on a singular decentralized network that is maintained by the developers across the world.
This was clearly our top choice when thinking about Oracles for Stacks 2.0.
I’ve seen Sergey relentlessly execute since the early days it crypto.

Now, Blockstack and chainlink joined forces thanks to Link’s oracle solution to allow developers to build sophisticated Clarity smart contracts that will be enhanced with security and validated data across data providers, APIs, and other off-chain resources from the oracle provider. Clarity was designed to be predictable, more secure, and reliable than other languages that are used to code a smart contract so when you combine Chainlink’s technology here, Clarity will bring plenty of other use cases according to Blockstack.
The initial integration will revolve around Chainlink’s Price Feeds but will evolve later in a generalized oracle solution. Both of the teams aim to make Chainlink’s capabilities available to Blockstack users in the near future in addition to the entirety of the Link smart contract library. The collab between Blockstack and Chainlink will span marketing, community development, and technology which will bring the former technology into the 2.0 stacks of the expanding blockchain orbit of developers and traders.
The two teams plan to co-host events and hackathons as well as create a developer-centric content to boost the development and adoption. As they work on their collaboration, both platforms will extend more benefits and opportunities for their communities. The co-founder of Blockstack Muneeb Ali said:
“Stacks 2.0 is a unique layer-1 blockchain that has a native bridge to Bitcoin. Clarity smart contracts give new powers to our developers. High-quality data feeds from Oracles are an important building block for Clarity contract developers.”
Ali added that Chainlink was a top choice for the decentralized oracle service for Blockstack for the reasons already explained above. The partnership came after Theta Network announced onboarding Chainlink oracles to its decentralized protocol earlier this week.
