A new libel suit was filed against Roger Ver by none other than Craig Wright after his failed attempt in 2019 as we are reading more in today’s BSV news.
The self-proclaimed creator of Bitcoin is continuing to file more defamation suits against his so-called rivals despite none of his previous attempts turned out to be successful. He launched a new libel suit against Roger Ver with the High Court of Antigua and Barbuda according to reports. According to the defamation claim obtained by CoinGeek, Craig Wright is seeking legal action against Ver for stating in the public that Wright is not the true Satoshi Nakamoto- the anonymous creator of the number one cryptocurrency- Bitcoin.

The court documents refer to Ver’s video message to Wright that was made in 2019 stating that “Craig Wright Is a liar and a fraud so sue me, again.” The new defamation claim seeks an injunction restraining Ver from stating similar defamatory allegations on platforms such as Twitter and YouTube as well as payments as compensation for the defamation. The video was accused of violating YouTube community guidelines which sparked the desire to launch a new lawsuit. Despite the video being removed from YouTube, Ver’s message to Wright is still available on his official Twitter account.
The High Court of England dismissed Wright’s libel suit in 2019 due to questions on jurisdiction. The Court of Appeal in England also dropped Wright’s appeal claiming that the suit is not a UK-related matter in May 2020. The defamation suit will have more chances in terms of jurisdiction as both Ver and Wright are citizens of Antigua and Barbuda. Wright is an Australian citizen that resides in London now.
The citizen of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Ver acquired his Antiqua and Barbuda citizenship through the Citizenship investment program. Both Ver and Wright didn’t respond for further comment. While there are many that believe LTC has a momentum, one analyst believes that Litecoin is one of the “better bearish plays” on the market right now. The same analyst has also expressed a bearish opinion about Bitcoin saying that that the asset could retrace to $8000 in the upcoming months. According to the full-time crypto trader, Litecoin could be entering a precarious position because it is running up against a pivotal resistance.
