The price of Bitcoin SV surged by 30% with the altcoin market preparing to shoot up as well. BSV leaps 30% to the upside along with plenty of other coins including Bitcoin Cash, IOTA, EOS, and Tron. Bitcoin SV is built on a blockchain that was formed from Bitcoin Cash which was initially forked from Bitcoin.
The attention to the Bitcoin SV token was sidelined for quite some time now in favor of its more famous relatives and tokens such as XRP, and Ethereum. However today, BSV is trading at a price of $230 which is way off its all-time high of $441 that was set on the start of the previous year. In the altcoin race, all eyes were set on Ethereum with a valid reason. The coin increased 60% in the past week as it hounded its former all-time high of $1432 that was set in 2018. The Altcoin season is here with 10% gains made by Tron and EOS.
Dogecoin also increased by 7%, continuing its increase of gains that saw it rise 70% on Monday last week. BSV is a fork from Bitcoin Cash which came as a result of the software war between the two engineering camps. The SV camp emerged led by Chris Wright who actually claims that he created Bitcoin.
A bitcoin SV multisig Bug was exploited in one of the scripts for the asset which could result in the potential loss of coins but now there are no investors that lost money. The exploit was reported by Blockstream’s co-founder Gregory Maxwell and retweeted by the crypto podcaster Ruben Somsen. The Bitcoin SV multisig bug ended in ripping out the existing multisig and replacing it with a threshold script that was supposed to accept X sigs or more but accepted X or less. The pay to script hash was deprecated as part of the BSV Genesis upgrade in February 2020 which was then replaced with a new threshold based script that was supposed to accept more than a set number of signatures.
