BTC popped 15% in the span and goes back above $43,000 while ETH is flirting with the move above $3000. The morning’s rise in prices on the crypto market was short-lived as the price of BTC ETH and other coins continued to accelerate over the course of the day and with BTC rising above $43,000 and eTH eyeing a move back to $3000.
BTC is now up nearly 15% over the past day at a current price of $43,291 according to CoinMarketCap. BTC’s price sat under $38,000 this time a day ago and dropped as low as $34,459 over the past week. Crypto markets surge continue and Ethereum pops back above $2900 for the first time in two weeks at a current price of $2902. the second biggest crypto is flirting with a move back above $3000 and it last touched on February 17. ETH is up 11% over the past 24 hours whcih matched the wider crypto market increase seen over the 24 hours and the market now sits above $1.9 trillion in total.
BTC and the wider market saw a steep decline over the past week after Russia invaded Ukraine and matched up some strong geopolitical tensions. As the Western nations banded together against Russia and implemented the sanctions on the aggressor the markets started to tick back up and fast this afternoon. Amid the sanctions and reports that citizens in Russia and Ukraine alike are having trouble accessing traditional banking services the turmoil could be making the case for decentralized currencies whcih can’t be controlled by a government.
TErra is the biggest winner in the top 10 crypto coins by market cap and increased by 25% over the past day to a price of nearly $90 with Solana seeing a larger-than-average increase up by 17% over the past day at a price of $99.
