The cryptocurrency investment platform eToro managed to regain and renew its partnership with the prominent English Premier League football club Leicester City FC. The renewal of the partnership was officially announced on the club’s page.
Leicester City FC, a club which has been featured in our latest cryptocurrency news but also known for winning the Premier League in the 2015/16 season, has shared their excitement for the partnership. As the Foxes’ head of partnerships named Harj Hir added:
“Our relationship with eToro last season was a really positive one so we’re pleased to renew the partnership and continue our work with such an exciting, innovative industry leader. The global reach of eToro is huge and we hope to further strengthen our relations with them as we embark on our second season together in 2019/20.”
According to the press release,“a landmark sponsorship deal was signed by the Football Club and e-Toro at the start of the 2018/19 campaign, which saw the company become an Official Club Partner while the agreement was the Premier League’s first deal paid using Bitcoin (BTC)”.
Leicester City FC is proof that cryptocurrencies are gradually becoming more and more common in sports. The Premier League club is featured on many best cryptocurrency news sites for the partnership with eToro. On the other hand, eToro is right now “working with six clubs for the second year in a row” according to the UK managing director of the company, Iqbal V. Gandham.
Just like Leicester, earlier this year the Everton Football Club of the British Premier League also signed a deal with the crypto-inclusive investment and trading platform eToro. On July 11, news broke that the American professional football team the Miami Dolphins is also hopping on the crypto bandwagon, announcing that Litecoin (LTC) is the team’s official cryptocurrency.
As we previously reported, the Portuguese spots club SL Benfica partnered with the cryptocurrency service Utrust to facilitate payments via cryptocurrency – used for tickets and merchandise in June. SL Benfica now accepts the UTK token as Utrust’s native token – as well as Bitcoin and Ether (ETH).
