SushiSwap CTO Joseph Delong quit his position at the platform due to issues within the project as well as long-term feuds within the team so let’s read more in today’s altcoin news.
The SushiSwap CTO Joseph Delong quit his role effective immediately. He took it to Twitter to announce his departure from the project and said he is taking a long vacation with the family before launching a new project:
“I wish Sushi the best and am saddened that Sushi is so imperiled within and without.”
SushiSwap is the third-biggest DEX in terms of trading volumes and the 9th DeFi project in terms of TVL with $3.59 billion locked in the liquidity pools. Delong’s move came after the resignation of 0xMaki who is the anonymous co-founder of SushiSwap as a leader in the project in September. Despite 0xMaki indicating at the time of his resignation was voluntary but a leaked screenshot from the platform’s closed Telegram group suggested that Delong initiated a poll asking the team whether 0xMaki should leave.

In the now-deleted post on the forum, alleged that 0xMaki was forced out blaming Delong and other team members for his departure. Delong’s departure is the latest in his recent issues within the Sushi community. The former CTO addressed what he saw as absurd defamation claiming that there was a lot of drama within the community and overt manipulation that comes from the outside of the project and threatening to quit if the community didn’t support the core team. After receiving $300,000 for his work at sushi he was not well compensated for the job that he did since he took the pay cut leave to work with Sushi:
“I will peacefully transfer all the accounts and go and build something equally as successful and you can find someone else to bully.”
I wish Sushi the best and am saddened that Sushi is so imperiled within and without. The chaos that is occurring now is unlikely to result in a resolution that will leave the DAO as much more of a shadow than it once was without a radical structural transformation.

The same day, Delong submitted a new proposal to pay the core members except for himself 200,000 SUSHI but didn’t pass the vote. In the meantime, the different proposals if approved will see sushiSwap being governed by DAOs. However, Delong voiced more concerns that the project in the current state will be able to find the way out:
“The chaos that is occurring now is unlikely to result in a resolution that will leave the DAO as much more of a shadow than it once was without a radical structural transformation.”
